Height Sensor
This feature can dramatically reduce the potential for broken nozzles by automatically adjusting the height of the cutting head to maintain a fixed distance between the nozzle and the material regardless of any variances in the material. By keeping the cutting head at a set distance above the material, one can cut faster with a better quality finish.

WARDJet´s innovative height sensor is practical, compact, easy-to-use and proven to work well. One height sensor can be installed on each carriage on any of WARDJet´s waterjet systems. So, if you have three carriages and three different cutting heads, they can all operate independently with their own height sensor simultaneously. A height sensor can free up the operator's time, opening the opportunity for multitasking, and contributing to an increased efficiency in operation of the waterjet. Psy-Winder 5-Axis Cutting Head
The Psy-winder is a precision 5 axis waterjet cutting mechanism where the angle to the material is defined by one axis and the clock angle to the profile is another. In this manner the programming for this design is very simple and the G-code to describe a beveled circle can be done in only 2 lines.

Post processors are available for both 2D and 3D CAM software. Due to the nature of the Psy-Winder mechanism it is considered a fixed mechanical tool tip cutter. This means that the motion of the additional rotary axes does not affect the spatial position of the cutting point. This is superior to a kinematically modeled mechanism which must offset its X, Y, and Z position based on the angles of the 4th and 5th axes and can accumulate additional error if the positions of the rotary axes are not perfect (i.e. deflected from the forces of a high pressure coil). High Pressure Gauge
To be able to glance at a large, easy to read ultra high-pressure water gauge can be valuable when operating a waterjet. Just by looking at how the needle is moving as the pump strokes will be an indication as to the condition of the pump seals, check-valves and other working parts. Read More »

Pneumatic Drill
Some materials such as laminated shim stock, certain laminated composites and phoenolics may de-laminate during the piercing process. The WARDJet Pneumatic Drill allows a hole to automatically be drilled through the material at a specific offset from the waterjet cutting head. Once the hole is drilled the waterjet will then automatically start the cut inside the pre-drilled hole. Our CAD/CAM program can automate this entire process. When cutting large numbers of holes, it could be a lot quicker to cut the hole with the waterjet to close tolerances, and then use a reamer to bring the hole to final size. Increase to 2300 lb Bulk Feed Hopper
An 1100 lb (~10 cu ft) hopper is supplied standard. This is larger than what you will find with most other machines. The 2300 lb allows an operator to run the machine for an 8 hour shift without adding abrasive (13 hours at 1.4 lbs of abrasive per minute with one 14/40 or two 10/30 cutting heads cutting heads and a 50HP pump). Some customers however prefer to have a larger bulk feed hopper supplied, as they will be running 24 hours per day, with multiple heads, or with over 100 HP.

Programmable Z-Axis
If an LCD 10 controller is supplied with the WARDJet system, it can be upgraded to operate as a fully programmable Z-carriage at any time. Even if you have 4 independent Z-carriages, they can all be set to have programmable Z capabilities on the same machine and work simultaneously. This option allows you to program the height of the cutting head along with the shape being cut in the X and Y direction. Variable Speed Mini-Hopper Upgrade
The WARDJet variable speed mini-hopper now allows the abrasive flow to be reduced automatically from within the software and program. When cutting stone, glass, ceramic tiles, laminates, phoenolics, lexan, acrylic, composites, carbon fiber or any material that is fragile, brittle or is difficult to pierce, a low-pressure pierce is critical to reduce the risk of damage to the material in the pierce procedure. As the water pressure is reduced, the abrasive flow to the cutting head is also reduced to balance the reduction in vacuum generated by the cutting head. The result is less blockages in the pierce procedure, and a substantial increase in consistency when low pressure piercing. If ordered with a new waterjet, the variable speed mini-hopper can be specified for an additional charge (roughly 25% of the cost of a new unit if purchased separately). Read More »
Abrasive Removal-Only System
This unit removes abrasive and kerf material from the waterjet tank – nearly eliminating the need to dig or clean out the tank. As with all removal-only systems, drops will not be removed.

This option is a great choice to dramatically reduce the amount of shoveling, and downtime, required to empty your tank if you don´t have an abrasive removal system. This is one of our more popular accessories, and if not initially selected, it will likely get to the top of the list once you have shoveled out your tank a few times!

Grates are made up of 4" x 4" squares 5" deep - all welded. Allows easy clamping and fixturing anywhere in the cutting area. Drawings can be provided for the grate should you wish to make them up yourself. The unassembled slats can also be provided ready to be welded together by your company.

This revolutionary grating, clamping and fixturing system has been designed with the user in mind. Everything about this system is efficient and easy-to-use. The flat, rigid design can eliminate movement of parts during cutting. The thinner 16 gauge steel construction substantially reduces back-spray and kickback. These grates are designed to be completely reversible therefore doubling the life of your grates. Heavy Duty Grates/complete set
If you cut heavier, thicker materials this grating and clamping system is designed for you. Made from ½" thick steel these grates can support your heaviest materials. The 8" spaces between the slats in the grates allow you to cut thicker materials at slower speeds. Any deep cuts in the grates can easily be repaired, effectively giving the heavy-duty grates an unlimited life. Water Only Grates/complete set
The Water-only Grating System is perfect if your application does not require cutting with abrasive. The unique design of these plastic bricks drains water away from the cutting area while reducing back-spray during cutting. The specially designed polypropylene materials resist delamination or loss of shape. These bricks come in pallets of 40 bricks with a steel frame holding 12 bricks at one time. The frame has an expanded steel mesh base that will support the plastic bricks, extending the life of the bricks substantially. The frame makes it possible to use a forklift to remove the entire frame out of the tank or to load the entire frame on top of the Job Shop or Heavy-Duty grates, hence allowing you to switch from abrasive to water-only cutting in just minutes.
